Geological Knowledge and Mineral Potential of Quebec

Geoscience knowledge of the territory is a key element of mining development in Quebec. To that end, the government is investing significant amounts of money annually in the acquisition, processing and dissemination of geological data.

Since 2018, the Geological Bulletin (“Bulletin géologiQUE”) has been the medium of choice for the transmission of new geological data and knowledge on regional mineral potential. This innovative web-based bulletin integrates hyperlinks to various lexicons that gather information on stratigraphic units and structural geology. These innovative tools also offer a number of opportunities to interact with the SIGÉOM databases, interactive map and document collection.
