Background

This tonalitic Rush Pluton was defined by Dion et al. (1992).

Description

The tonalitic composition and layout of the Rush Pluton were interpreted from gravimetric and aeromagnetic data (Dion et al., 1992; Morin, 1994; Keating and D’Amours, 2010), as it does not outcrop.

Thickness and Distribution

The Rush Pluton layout corresponds to negative gravimetric and aeromagnetic anomalies (Dion et al., 1992; Morin, 1994; Keating and D’Amours, 2010). It has an irregular shape: its N-S axis is 4.5 km and its E-W axis is 5 km. In addition, it shows an apophysis measuring 1 x 2 km which extends to the east.

Dating

None.

Stratigraphic Relationship(s)

The Rush Pluton cuts volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Bruneau (2724.4 ±1.2 Ma; Davis et al., 2014), Blondeau (<2721 ±3 Ma; Leclerc et al., 2012) and Bordeleau formations that characterize the summit of the Roy Group.
